Does your child have Attention Deficit Disorder/Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder  (ADD/ADHD)?

1)  Is it difficult for your child to stick with task?

2) Is your child impulsive?

3) Is your child easily distracted?

4) Does your child have difficulty concentrating?

5) Does your child have a short attention span?

Attention Deficit Disorder is a common diagnosis today.  This is a legitimate disease with an accepted treatment.  They symptoms includes restlessness, incessant talking, an inability to concentrate, and difficulty playing quietly.  These children appear to be always "on the go" as if "driven by a motor", and they have a history of difficulty sleeping.  They are impulsive, have difficulty delaying responses, and often blurt out words inappropriately.

This is a behavioral problem with physiological attributes.  The problem is that this diagnosis cannot be applied to all behavior problems.  Maybe the child is reacting to some family problems, maybe more effective discipline measures are needed, or maybe the child needs to learn concentration skills and more acceptable behavior patterns.

Before medication is ordered, be sure your child has been completely tested.  Our goal is to identify what the child needs and then prescribe the appropriate intervention.  We have an individualized approach to treatment, which may include traditional methods such as psychotherapy, family counseling, cognitive training, and medication as indicated, or we may recommend alternative treatment such as EEG Neurobiofeedback.   Please contact us for your free 15 minute consultation.
